Fine-tuning system animations on your Android device can lead to a noticeably faster performance and a more responsive user experience. Here’s how you can adjust these settings:
-
Enable Developer Options:
- Go to Settings > About phone.
- Scroll down and tap on Build number seven times until you see a message that says "You are now a developer!"
-
Access Developer Options:
- Go back to the Settings menu.
- Look for System or Additional settings and tap on Developer options.
-
Adjust Animation Scales:
- Scroll down to the Drawing section in Developer options.
- You'll find three settings: Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale.
- Tap each of these options. By default, they are set to 1x.
-
Reduce Animation Scale:
- Change Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale to 0.5x. This will make animations twice as fast.
- Optionally, you can turn animations off by setting these values to Animation off, which will remove the animations altogether.
-
Observe the Difference:
- Navigate through your device and open apps to see the improved response time and speed.
-
Revert if Necessary:
- If you find the experience less visually appealing or encounter any issues, you can always revert the settings back to 1x or your preferred speed.
By reducing or disabling animations, your device’s CPU won't have to process these effects, thereby improving overall performance and speed. Enjoy a snappier Android experience!
